Because people wanted to be the first person to fly and become rich and famous.

What did planes look like in the past

They looked like gliders and small planes with no engine or rudders.

How do people fly today 

People go to another country on passenger plane's or fly to a part of there country or go to country's for buissnes purposes or vacation or they pilot those planes to another country 

Why have planes changed 

Planes have changed because the old planes could not hold a lot of people and thay were slow and dangerous but now they hold a lot of people and they are fast and are not as dangerous
